Bringing Immersive In-Car Audio Experiences to CES 2025
Bose Automotive kicked off the new year at the T-Mobile Arena for CES 2025 in order to showcase some of the most innovative in-car audio technologies. At the event, we hosted five demonstrations that highlighted the future of automotive sound and gave attendees a glimpse into the next generation of immersive, personalized audio solutions.
1. ImmersiveCabin Experience
Bose’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of automotive audio took center stage with the Porsche Macan demonstration, featuring Perceptual Sound Rendering (PSR) technology. Already available in several OEMs, including the Macan, PSR offers an unparalleled audio experience with 14 Bose speakers, each individually driven to create a unique, spatial sound signature for every passenger in every seat. During the demo, attendees could listen to stereo and Bose Centerpoint Surround Sound, which delivers an immersive audio experience.
2. ImmersiveCabin Experience with Enhanced Clarity
While the technology is still in its research phase, this concept car demonstration emphasized how Bose is continually pushing the envelope when it comes to achieving greater clarity and crispness. Through advancements in PSR technology, Bose engineers can now control sound with an unprecedented level of precision, delivering music with more texture, depth, and richness.
3. ImmersiveCabin Experience with 3D Surround
The GMC Yukon Denali Concept Car demo showcased Bose’s ability to provide truly immersive audio to every seat. Using PSR and Dolby Atmos, Bose brings spatially accurate audio into vehicles with or without overhead speakers, which can be challenging to integrate into vehicle designs. Whether it’s stereo or Atmos sound, the demonstration proved that everyone can experience studio-like audio, with Bose’s precise tuning making sure each listener feels completely immersed. The system scales seamlessly across different vehicle layouts, making it adaptable to various OEM designs.
4. Quad Zone SeatCentric Experience
One of the most exciting advancements from Bose is the SeatCentric Experience, and at CES 2025, we showcased the next generation of this technology in the Porsche Cayenne Concept Car. With the ability to provide enhanced control for each seat, Bose has made it possible to actively create or cancel frequencies in specific areas using UltraNearfield speaker solutions and PSR. Unlike traditional fade/balance controls that simply turn speakers on or off, Bose’s system creates a vastly improved, more dynamic sound experience for each seat. This precision, combined with an intuitive user interface, ensures that every passenger has their own unique listening experience—whether they’re enjoying a concert, podcast, or even complete silence.
5. Design System: A Collaborative Approach to Innovation
Beyond the cutting-edge audio technologies, Bose also showcased its commitment to collaborative design. At CES, we offered an inside look at how Bose’s Design System gives OEMs access to an entire library of content, including documentation, design specs, and everything automakers need to know in order to incorporate Bose sound systems into their vehicles. Our team demonstrated how the Design System enables automotive product designers to elevate the audio experience more easily with the flexibility needed to integrate these systems seamlessly into diverse vehicle interiors.
Looking Ahead: The Future of In-Car Audio
The demonstrations at CES 2025 were a testament to Bose’s ongoing innovation in the automotive audio space. Whether it’s immersive, lifelike sound, greater clarity and realism, or the 3D surround sound experience, Bose continues to push the limits of what’s possible in automotive sound. With SeatCentric technologies and close collaborations with OEMs, we’re excited about the future of in-car audio and the possibilities that lie ahead.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to innovate and redefine the in-car listening experience.
