We are thrilled to announce our latest collaboration with Volvo, delivering a premium audio experience for Volvo’s newest electric luxury crossover, launched in early 2026. 

Built for Volvo’s Software-Defined Vehicle Architecture 

The EX60 is built on Volvo’s new SPA3 platform, a ground-up architecture that marks Volvo’s next step into the software-defined vehicle era. Bose was part of that vision from the outset, developing a premium audio experience designed to work seamlessly within the vehicle platform. 

Bose audio processing runs on the vehicle’s central compute platform and is fully synchronized with the vehicle’s digital systems. 

The Intelligence Behind the Experience 

Central to the EX60’s audio experience is Perceptual Sound Rendering (PSR), the intelligence behind our tuning philosophy. Rather than optimizing individual speakers in isolation, PSR orchestrates the entire in-cabin experience around a unified set of perceptual goals: soundstage, immersion, bass control, and seat-to-seat consistency. 

By aligning measurable cabin acoustics with human sound perception, PSR helps deliver a cohesive listening experience throughout the vehicle. The result is vibrant, true-to-life sound that feels intuitive and deeply human. 

The EX60 features 21 high-performance speakers, including integrated front-row headrest speakers, precision-tuned to deliver rich clarity, precision, immersive depth, and natural sound that complements Volvo’s refined Scandinavian design ethos.

Several Bose features come together to elevate the EX60 listening experience: 

Centerpoint 360 and Bose 3D Surround create a natural, enveloping soundstage distributed evenly throughout the cabin, surrounding listeners rather than projecting sound at them. 

Bose BassSync delivers a powerful, well-controlled bass response for a smooth listen. 

Bose SeatCentric Experiences leverage the headrest speakers to create personalized sound zones with Front Row Zone and Driver Zone, allowing passengers to relax, children to remain undisturbed, and drivers to stay focused. 

Call Placement routes phone calls directly to the driver’s headrest speakers for clear, private conversations without broadcasting across the cabin. 

AudioPilot and Active Road Noise Control continuously adapt playback to speed and road conditions, preserving clarity and balance throughout the drive.
